 ABOUT THE OPERA

RockOpera Prague decided to expand their already quite diverse repertoire by adding the mysterious rock opera The Exorcist. The play is music-wise one of the most hardcore ones, and also the first horror opera in the theatre's history. The composer Milan Seigerwald was not only influenced by metal writing this play, but by the German composer Carl Orff, Johann Sebastian Bach and celtic music as well.

"I saw an Ozzy Ozbourne concert once which began with Carmina Burana. Then the song ended, Ozzy came up on the stage, and I thought that it's a pity that the Carmina ended. So I decided to make a metal Orff. In The Exorcist there will be (as in Carmina Burana) a singing choir - but also a lot of growling and screaming," says Milan Steigerwald about the opera.
